La Pletera is a truly unique spot on the Costa Brava and a must-visit if you’re travelling with your dog. You’ll find flat paths winding through restored dunes, wetlands and protected natural areas. The route allows you to walk for several kilometres without any significant changes in elevation.
Along the way, you can spot different species of birds, typical coastal vegetation and enjoy views of the sea and the Medes Islands.

This route is highly recommended for a walk first thing in the morning or at sunset, when the temperatures are more pleasant.

It is one of the most popular areas in L’Estartit and perfect for a leisurely walk with your dog whilst enjoying the views of the Medes Islands. A convenient way to explore the town without straying too far from our apartments in L’Estartit. Along the entire promenade, you’ll find benches, terraces, rest areas and various access points to the beach.

All year round, you’ll find both locals and tourists making the most of the promenade to go for a walk, do some exercise or simply gaze out at the sea whilst enjoying the sea breeze.

La Gola del Ter is the point where the River Ter flows into the Mediterranean, creating a landscape of great ecological value and one of the most interesting walks in the Estartiti area.
The path is an easy route, with no significant changes in elevation, passing through dunes, wetlands and wide beaches.

Along the way, it is common to spot waterbirds, vegetation typical of coastal ecosystems and sweeping panoramic views of the coastline. The contrast between the river and the sea creates a very photogenic setting that appeals to nature lovers as well as those looking for a peaceful walk with their pet.
It is advisable to bring water as there are few shaded areas in summer.

The Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park is one of the most important protected areas in Catalonia, offering numerous trails where dogs are allowed to accompany you, provided you follow the rules of the protected area and respect the local flora and fauna.

• A collar or lead with an identification tag bearing the dog’s name and the owner’s details.
• Up-to-date veterinary records.

To ensure everyone can enjoy the beach together, it is important to follow the rules:

• Dogs must not leave the designated beach area, either on the sand or in the water, as there are wild animals in the nature reserve that must not be disturbed.
• Owners are responsible for their pets.
• You must pick up after your dog. There are bins in the area where you can dispose of it.
• Dogs are not permitted to use the beach showers.
• In accordance with local environmental protection regulations, dogs must be kept on a lead within the designated area.

• Always carry water and a bowl so your pet can drink.
• During the summer, plan outdoor activities for first thing in the morning or at sunset.
• May, June, September and October are probably the best months: less heat, fewer people and better conditions for walking and enjoying the beach with your dog.
