The Q for Tourism Quality is a distinction awarded by the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE) that certifies the quality of service and management of facilities.
L’Estartit has renewed this distinction every year since 2010. This insignia is internationally recognised and brings prestige, differentiation, rigour and tourism promotion to the towns that obtain it.

What does it mean to have the Q for quality?
The Q for Tourist Quality certifies that the beach complies with the standards of the UNE 187001 regulation, which regulates the quality of beach services.
This distinction assesses aspects such as:
- Water quality and sand cleanliness
- Maintenance of equipment and public areas
- Accessibility (walkways and services adapted for people with reduced mobility)
- Safety, surveillance and lifeguard services
- Signage, visitor information and environmental management
