
From Girona city to l’Estartit by Bike.
This route is part of the fourth stage of the Ter Route, a 220-kilometer journey that starts in Vallter, in Setcases, at 2,200 meters above sea level, and follows the Ter River to its mouth in the Mediterranean Sea, at the Gola del Ter, in the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí – L’Estartit.
But if you only have a couple of days and love both cycling and the beach, you will enjoy this 40 km bike ride from Girona to L’Estartit. Additionally, if you haven’t booked accommodation yet, you can stay in our apartments in l’Estartit just five minutes from the main beach, from 1 at 3 rooms and capacity for 1 to 8 people.
You can arrive in Girona by train and from there, head towards La Devesa Park, crossing the Fontajau pedestrian bridge over the Ter River. Further along, the route passes under the Pont de França and continues on a dirt track, marked by an informational sign reading “Les Ribes del Ter”. The path we are traveling on becomes a dirt track.

Important: Caution in Case of Rain If there has been recent rainfall, the water level of the Ter River and its tributaries may have risen. In this case, proceed with caution, as some sections may be flooded or affected by the water.
To get home, we can take a 1-hour bike ride to Flaçà Train Station or take a bus to Girona.
