Catalonia and Gastronomy

If we take into consideration the recognitions of the Michelin Guide, we can see how Catalonia is the only country in the world that has had three restaurants recognized as the “Best Restaurant in the world”. This year’s Michelin Guide has recognized the best restaurant in the world, “Disfrutar Restaurant” in Barcelona.

For many years, Catalonia, and especially the province of Girona, is one of the most important regions in gastronomic terms, due to the many world-renowned restaurants. For example we have “Celler de Can Roca” (Girona), “Bo-TIC (Corça), “Les Cols” (Olot), “Els Tinars” (Llagostera), “Ca l’ Enric” (La Vall de Bianya), “Empòrium” (Castellò d’Empúries), etc. Without forgetting “Bulli” (Roses), the best restaurant in the world for five years in a row and now it has been converted into “Bulli 1846 Foundation”.
