Pirates and Corsairs Fair in l’Estartit

The Pirates and Corsairs Fair on the Medes Islands is an annual event held in l’Estartit, in the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí, with the aim of reviving the pirate past of this area of the Costa Brava. In the 16th century, the Medes Islands served as a hideout for Barbary pirates who raided the Catalan coast.

With over twenty editions, the fair offers cultural, recreational, and educational activities for all ages.

From September 26 to 28, l’Estartit transforms to commemorate its historic fight against the pirates. The village streets return to the 16th century with decorations, costumes, and themed performances that captivate both children and adults.
