The Costa Brava has spectacular spots and coves that deserve to be discovered. That is why, from Sa Gavina Apartments, we want you to know all the charming towns that surround us.

A few weeks ago, in the post “Charming towns near l’Estartit (Part I)” we talked about Pals, Begur and L’Escala, three ideal options for a getaway with your family, friends or your partner.

In today’s article, we present three new proposals of towns that you can find just a few minutes drive from our facilities, read on!

Tamariu

Tamariu, another of the towns we would like to recommend, is part of Palafrugell. Although it has a very low population during the year, when the temperatures start to rise, many visitors start arriving to this old fishing village.

You will fall in love with its narrow streets and local commerce; its summer atmosphere at any time of the year; its beaches surrounded by white houses and its vegetation (including the Tamarius, the trees that give their name to this small village).

Also, its hidden rocky coves, which can be reached on foot, swimming, kayaking or by boat; or its connection with the neighbouring towns of Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc, linked by the Coastal path.

And if you decide to visit in winter… Apart from being able to enjoy all of this, you will be able to contemplate the coloured boats stranded on the shore. A postcard image that leaves no one indifferent!

Calella de Palafrugell

Calella de Palafrugell is an old fishing village that has managed to preserve its natural charm. Its white houses, with blue doors and decorated with flowers, mark the essence of this beautiful village.

Thanks to the limitations established at the time of its urbanisation, the old town has remained almost intact during this period, and WHAT LUCK!

It is a village made up of several coves suitable for all tastes: from the small ones that are difficult to access (and quieter), to the larger and more crowded ones. Moreover, it has been awarded the “Pueblo con encanto” seal by the Catalan Tourism Agency, which considers it a point of tourist interest.

Palamós

Another town not to be missed is Palamós, a seaside town with many contrasts that offers different alternatives for all its visitors.

There are those who are looking for the most popular coves, accessible on foot or by car, but also those who prefer the best hidden and private ones, even if it is an adventure to reach them.

Equally, there are those who are looking for outdoor sports in a unique landscape, walking the Coastal Path, or those who want to relax on the crystal clear beaches that merge with the rocky coastline.

Not forgetting those who prefer to spend the day on the sand, with tuppers made with love, and those who want to enjoy the local gastronomy and the famous Palamós prawns in the different restaurants and beach bars in the area.

Last but not least, there are those who like to stay up late, with a wide range of nightlife, and for early risers there are unmissable plans such as a visit to the old town, an incalculable historical heritage. For nature lovers, you can enjoy the Gavarres massif.
